Perfect for eco-tourists, the 1,670-acre Goose Creek State Park offers a beautiful marsh and swamp environment to view from the park's six well-marked boardwalks and hiking trails, or by paddling Upper Goose Creek. Visitors may camp in the 12-tent campsite, fish or swim from the sandy banks of the Pamlico River, picnic amidst pine and oak forest, and explore the park’s visitor center, complete with abundant exhibits and information on North Carolina's unique wetlands. This park lies nine miles east of Washington, on the north side of the Pamlico River.
Open daily Nov - Feb: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Mar and Oct: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Apr, May and Sep: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Jun - Aug: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
